Beatles 70: Get Back (1970)

Description

This is a little project I'm working on; what if the Beatles continued producing albums after Let it Be? This is the first of these. Now, I know Get Back was a failed album that was later remixed by Phil Spector to become Let it Be, but this is my take as to what would've happened if Get Back had been released. Here's the track listing: (I'm going for sides, because that was how vinyl records worked back until the 1990s)

All songs by Lennon/McCartney, except tracks 7 and 10 (*), written by Harrison.

SIDE ONE (The Rooftop Concert)
1. Get Back
2. Don't Let Me Down
3. I've Got a Feeling
4. The One After 909
5. Dig a Pony
6. Get Back (reprise)

SIDE TWO (The Studio Recordings)
7. For You Blue*
8. The Long and Winding Road
9. Two of Us
10. I Me Mine*
11. Across the Universe
12. Let it Be

The first side is based on the actual rooftop concert on January 30, 1969, and the second side consists of the remaining tracks from the actual Let it Be, excluding Dig It and Maggie Mae. All tracks would be the versions from Let it Be... Naked, whereas the reprise to Get Back would be from Anthology 3 with John Lennon's closing line included - "I'd like to say 'thank you' on behalf of the group and ourselves, and I hope we passed the audition."

The album cover is taken from 1967-1970, which served as the original planned cover for Get Back, as a callback to their first album Please Please Me. It was all edited on Adobe Premiere Pro. Looks good, don't it?

Original Music (C) John Lennon & Paul McCartney, George Harrison
